World Marriage Day
- Sunday, February 14, 2010
(Plans
for
World Marriage Day 2011 are already
underway!)
World Marriage Day is an annual
event, sponsored by
Worldwide
Marriage Encounter (the largest Catholic
pro-marriage and family movement in the world)
and the Family
Life/Respect Life Office of the Archdiocese
of New York. It honors and affirms the
vocation of husbands and wives and the positive
impact of their dedicated example on our
society, families, communities, Church, and
nation. Each year on World Marriage Day, the
10:15 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral in
Manhattan is offered in grateful recognition of
married couples everywhere, with particular
attention focused on the longest-married couple
in the Archdiocese. Immediately following
the Mass is a reception in the Cathedral meeting
room. This annual event
always draws huge numbers of couples and
families who want to be a part of this special
celebration.
